The great thing about Europe is that everything is so close, and air travel is so cheap on the budget airlines like Ryanair and Easyjet. So, I’m going to Germany for 3 days next week, just before I leave the UK! I booked the trip today through the STA Travel branch in Victoria, London, and will be staying in Berlin for two nights. Germany is a place I’ve wanted to visit for awhile, because I can practice my German (and I’ll probably find out that I really can’t understand as much as I think I can).
Today I went around London, and am currently in Greenwich, where Greenwich Mean Time comes from. I stood at the East Meridian (or whatever its called), and had one foot in the eastern hemisphere and one in the western. I asked a Thai family to take a photo of me (I realised they were Thai when I heard them counting while taking their own photos), and they were shocked when I thanked them (in Thai) for taking a photo of me.
Anyway, that’s all for now – I’m going to find somewhere to have dinner, then go back home. I can’t upload photos at the moment because I’m at an Internet cafe, and I probably won’t get a chance to upload photos again maybe even until just before I leave – but I’ll see how it goes.
