Living out of home

I moved out of home recently – yay! Only for two weeks though. A friend’s parents went overseas, leaving him with the house to himself, so as we together with another friend had always wanted to live together in a group house, we gave it a trial.

It went suprisingly well. Using the vast resource that is the Internet (as well as calls home to Mum), even I cooked a few meals – Macaroni Cheese, Spaghetti Bolognaise, and a nice Baked Dinner. We did it all – shopping, washing, cleaning, cooking and ironing, and I realised that mums really do complete quite a lot of things around the home.

It was a good time to realise what life is like outside the home – there’s a lot more to do so you’re generally more busy than at home – and also to realise that I can live out of home if I have to (eg. when my parents move to Thailand next year, if I don’t go with them…)

  1. Thanks mate – remember Dads do a lot around the home too, especially this one because he cooks and washes your clothes :-)

  2. Really? I thought mum did all that. :) :)

  3. Yeah, Mum does most of it. Dad cooks the odd meal and sometimes puts the washing on since he’s home more now and I’m not home as much. :-)
