Rudd is not fit to lead us

I’ve had the opinion for awhile that Kevin Rudd is too inexperienced at this stage to lead Australia through the next three years, and a story out today confirms that.

Visiting Queanbeyan today, Mr Rudd was asked by a journalist to name the tax rates and where thresholds kick in.

Mr Rudd replied: “Well, as of July 1, if you went through the four thresholds, I think the high threshold kicks in I think at $175,000, then I think it cascades down the spectrum.”

A question as simple as that should not be answered by a prospective PM with three ‘I think’s in one sentence – and besides that, what he thinks is completely wrong.

You’ve got to be pretty smart and knowledgeable to be the PM of Australia. Rudd is smart, but hasn’t had enough time in less than one year as opposition leader to build up his knowledge. Even given that though, you would think he would know what our tax rates are if he is in touch with the working Australian, like his party accuses John Howard of no longer being.

Rudd is not fit to lead our country now. If he can maintain a full three year term as opposition leader unlike his two predecessors, it will show that perhaps he is in it for the long haul. And he’ll learn alot in the process.

Howard has done a sterling job running our country for the past eleven years, and Costello has taken our economy from strength to strength. They both know what they’re doing. I hope us Aussies let them continue.
